Eliza wasn't lucky to be born in 2008. A new baby, a financial recession. What more could go wrong? Just as Berkley and Valerie Abbot were about to move out of the hood, the housing market came crashing down right on the family. Berkley lost his job. Valerie was working at Walmart at the time, finally getting that manager position she so desperately wanted. And Eliza wasn't planned, but she was born even though they couldn't afford a child. But they did their damn best to raise a baby that was going to get out of the hood.
It's hard to focus on the technology surge when you have other problems to deal with. Even walking home from the bus was nerve-wracking from the girl. When you always see television reports saying that Detroit is the most dangerous city, how else are you going to respond? Ma and Pa both worked 12 hour days just to provide for the girl. The least she could do was not complain about the gun shots she heard outside at night.
School was a different story. Kids were doing drugs as early as third grade. They either got a hold of it from their parents or their friend's parents had some. It wasn't hard drugs yet, but it was still something Eliza didn't want to be around. She was an outspoken girl, but she would often get in fights with other kids that tried to pick on her for not doing said drugs. She was even suspended for a month once when she was 12. But her grades were astounding. She was one of the smartest kids in the class because she worked her butt off on her grades even though she had behavioral problems.
Androids came out when she was sixteen, but not many kids in her school talked about it. None of them could afford it, including her family. Her ma and pa couldn't support Eliza anymore at sixteen, so she decided to move out. A lot of kids did that at her age where she was from. Kids backed off from her, and she had a clean record all throughout high school. Eliza worked as a bouncer outside of a club to support herself. She didn't look tough, but she was. She ended up getting valedictorian of her high school, even though that wasn't much of an accomplishment for her school. There were no honor classes. All she had to do was show up and do her work.
Eliza knew she couldn't keep supporting herself by being just a bouncer. She went into the Academy for the Detroit PD. She was only one of two girls in her class. This was where she first really learned about androids. It was a factor in policing Detroit, especially with thousands of them being hired. By day, Eliza went to the Academy. She was still a bouncer by night, which barely covered the bills. In six months, she graduated second in her class. She was finally Officer Abbott.
Things went smoothly for five years. She was good at her job. Everyone seemed to like her, though she was definitely abrasive at first. She almost got a promotion.
Her parents were shot by two police officers, one android and one human.
Some would say human error, but it shouldn't have happened with an android there. She knew that it was probably the human's fault, but she couldn't help but hate the android. They were just walking down the street in the hood, got into a little disagreement. They were yelling, but people yell. Gunshots ensued, but only from the officers. When you can't derail an unarmed situation, the best way is to end the situation with two gunshots? Even now, she wasn't sure if that whole thing was true. But at 25, Eliza dropped out of the police force.
Without a job and without a college degree, there was nothing left she could do. The Red Ice business had been booming, if not illegal. She was agile, strong, and smart: everything she needed to get into an illegal business. She tried to get a normal job, but nobody would hire her. The unemployment rate was too high to hire someone without a degree. It was the androids' fault.
She started simply dealing red ice. Eliza, of course, used her own supply. She was an addict, just like the rest of them. But she was damn good at dealing. After a while, she was called to the Warehouse, where she would become one of the main dealers for large supplies of Red Ice. She's been dealing for four years now.

Friends: Eliza is friends with most of the dealers in the warehouse. She's a pretty abrasive person when you first meet her. She's brutally honest and sarcastic with a very dry sense of humor.
Enemies: She isn't a fan of androids. She'll often just talk in a hostile tone to them, snapping at them if they even do something slightly wrong. She also hates the police, for reasons mentioned above and for the reason that she's a drug dealer.
Relationship: She's really in a relationship with drugs, but she hooks up with any human really.
