Merrick C. Rhodes Male 32 Heterosexual Factory Manager Kyle Harris Madi | Application
Merrick Cyrus Rhodes was born into a family of innovators and engineers. His extended family had always been at the forefront of technological creations and computer science. His father Cyrus, from whom he gets his name, was always especially fascinated by the concept of artificial intelligence and androids. Cyrus had worked as a programmer at Cyberlife, on the ground floor of the company when the first android, RT600, was created. Merrick was only 16 when the android, better known as Chloe, was first released to the public. His future plans were shaped by the wealth and fame his father had achieved from his creation. While Mr. Kamski was always known as being the inventor of the modern android, Cyrus viewed himself as being an integral part of the creation and passed this view on to his children.
Merrick, eager to follow in his father's footsteps, pursued computer science and the study of artificial intelligence with a fervor. Despite inheriting his father's passions, however, Merrick had not inherited the man's superior intelligence. Merrick was smart enough, sure, but he was never at the top of his class. There were no illusions that he would be changing the face of the android business any time soon. He struggled with the complexities of creating artificial intelligence, never able to make his androids lifelike enough to put on the market. Still, he had a knack for machinery. After finishing school, Merrick found himself working in one of Cyberlife's factories.
With hard work (and admittedly, the aid of his influential father) Merrick quickly found himself managing android production in one of Detroit's major factories. Still, it was never enough for him. He wanted to be known for his achievements like his father, but he was working behind the scenes. No one cared who assembled the androids, just as no one cared who assembled the other appliances in their homes. If he couldn't use his position to get famous, perhaps he could use it to become infamous instead.
While it wasn't common knowledge, anyone with connections to the shadier side of Detroit's population could tell you that a certain Cyberlife floor manager ran a couple of side businesses out of his factory. Whether it be selling the android Thirium used in the production of drugs, offering up company secrets like codes and blueprints, or letting people in to the factory for some "alone time" with the new androids before they shipped out, Merrick had his hands in many different pies. Anything to make connections (and a bit of money) on the side.
Merrick has enjoyed the perks his new side ventures have brought him, including the wealth to support his luxurious lifestyle. While many in Detroit struggle with unemployment and paying their bills on time, Merrick can frequently be found at nightclubs or VIP parties with Detroit's elite. While he claims that he's earned what he has through hard work at the Cyberlife factory, there are whispers that his hands may not be entirely clean. However, those rumors are quickly swept under the rug, as they could destroy both his and his father's reputations and businesses.

Friends: Merrick does not have many terribly close friends. He's a bit full of himself and not always pleasant to be around. However, he does know a lot of people from his businesses, both legal and not. Whether they be shady types looking to get a piece of the action, other Cyberlife employees, of androids working in the factory, Merrick would interact with many different types of people.
Enemies: Merrick is much more likely to have enemies than friends. Should his dealings get out, it could seriously damage Cyberlife's reputation. Cyberlife employees with more of a moral compass than he would definitely disagree with what Merrick is doing. He also works a lot with the criminal underground and may have broken a deal or two. Anyone on the police force would be especially bad to have snooping around.
Romance: Merrick is definitely not a hopeless romantic. He's much more of a playboy, living the life of a wealthy young man in his prime. He may have one night stands or short relationships with women he meets, but he's not one to be tied down (feel free to try, though).
