Andy tried so hard to fit in. In the academy, people acted so cool and tough. He wasn't like them. In all honesty, he just wanted to do the right thing. He wasn't good at much, but ever since he learned that androids were part of the police program, he was all in for it. He learned quickly that most people in the department didn't care for androids, so there weren't meany people jumping at the chance to work with them. In fact, Andy was the only one. That also might have been one of the reasons he passed in the academy anyways. He was very mediocre at most things, but he was positive and tried to be upbeat.
Today was the first assignment day. He found out who his partner would be for the next six months to help him train and do good in the world. The lieutenant looked at Andy and sighed. It was a disappointed sigh, but Andy couldn't help but keep that smile on his face. "You're assigned to Judas, one of the veteran police androids. Hopefully it'll bring better spirits in the department because moral between humans and androids isn't very good. I don't think it'll change, but good luck. He's at his desk." The lieutenant pointed in a general direction, so Andy had really no idea where to start looking. He smiled and nodded. "Thank you lieutenant, I won't let you down!" He said optimistically, grabbing his new badge and the file on the basics of the station.
He stepped out of the office, looking around at all of the desks in the open space. None of them seemed like androids to him. Of course he had seen police androids before, but the one in the suburbs must have been different than the ones in the city. He started walking around and asking if they had seen Judas, but most of them swatted him away and left him discouraged. It had only been the first day and everyone already seemed to hate him.
Andy kept walking and looked down at the information packet. Maybe there was a map with everyone's desks or something. With Andy being distracted, he ran right into someone. The kid wasn't strong in the least, and he fell with the information packet flying. "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry!" He could feel eyes on him and snickers throughout the room. His face turned red with embarrassment. If William was here, he could've helped him. TAG: Judas

Today, he had been informed, he would be receiving his new partner assignment after one of his longer periods without. Maybe they had finally found someone they could trust not to destroy him again. All he did know was the he was expected to be in the station and available for specified window of time to meet the officer for their first shift together. It was a convenient time for Judas to get his paperwork and files updated. It was a shift on his usual time of day to get it done, but that would be alright. He had cataloged traffic patterns through the station and found the least populated time to usually do his papers. There were fewer distractions that way. But today he managed to work in one of the busiest times of day, overhearing plenty of officers cursing the system or rushing to finish certain deadlines. Judas himself was pretty much ignored since he had gotten here, which the android had not minded. They hadn't shared anything about his new partner. It was typical; he didn't get all that much information ahead of time unless it was needed. They did like to pair him with new androids, and that was just about what he was expecting for this one too. Acclimating new androids was an efficient use of his programmed skills after all. There was this feeling of anticipation, it was always better on patrol with a partner. Safer to be certain, but he also liked it better. As much as he allowed himself to have a preference. The android was returning to his desk from turning in a sizable stack of paperwork, he was sure that it would keep his superior busy for while. That was one thing about working around the clock was that the arrests and paperwork added up. Especially as he had to catch up from his recent time away. He returned to his desk with every intention to clean up, and he supposed just wait. Waiting he could do, albeit impatient waiting. “Hey, someone was looking for you.” One of the officers cared st least a hint enough to point the fact out, even if he didn't bother to look up and make eye contact with the android. Let alone elaborate on who or why, but the statement made Judas pause and turn back to the man. “Where are they located now?” Judas asked with a tilt of his head. Instantly the human officer regretted having spoken. ”Hell if I know, just appreciate that I told you anything.” He scoffed and waved Judas off quickly. The android kept a straight face despite a deep set annoyance. Why send him chasing down some phantom who was asking for the android, it could be a waste of time. Or maybe that was the intention. Judas paused before he went to turn around, in time to feel the impact of a smaller figure running into his body. The android was like a rock, standing firm against the young man's impact. Judas finished turning around at the thud of the human hitting the ground, and intrigued expression upon his face. Why was there a child in the station? And running into him, although he did not take offense like he knew several of his colleagues would. ”Are you alright?” Judas asked as he swiftly knelt down to pick up the dropped papers. He neatly sorted them into his hand, taking note of the nature of the paperwork. New officer information papers. Interesting. The red face marked embarrassment that was understandable given the circumstances. ”I was not harmed, but I would advise giving attention to where you are walking. And, perhaps, disregarding some of their behavior.” Judas spoke calmly and nodded toward the snickering officers. Although he did not feel embarrassment as a human, he was all too familiar with being on the receiving end of of such childish reactions and behaviors. The android offered a practiced smile and held out the neatly collected files to the newbie. They didn't need another rookie walking out day one. Andy Adeleton
